Abstract
Purpose: This study is to check existence and nonexistence of refractive error for preschool children and those who have something wrong are treated or they prevent amblyopia through the vision therapy and have their refractive error tested through the early visiual correction for normal elementary school life.

Methods: For this study is from march 2nd to march 31th in 2008, and a subject of investigation is 99 children at the Kindergartens located in Namgu, Ulsan. Before the investigation, we asked their parents about children¡¯s eating habits and behavior with a question paper. Also we investigated how parents wearing glasses will affect their children¡¯s eye sight.

Results: the parents in 30s are the most as 81% and a person who wear glasses either their father or mother is 67% and they replied they had been wearing the glasses or contact lenses since their middle or high school days. A result of children, it shows that there are 12 children with myopia or myopic astigmatism, 4 children with hyperopia or hyperopic astigmatism, 15 children with mixed astigmatism 68 children with ametropia of 99 children. it shows that there is no relationship between the children¡¯s eye sights and refractive error of their parents, and children¡¯s eye sights are estimated postnatal refractive error status rather than apriority.

Conclusion: Children with mixed astigmatism of children with refractive error trun up the most, and it is estimated that mixed astigmatism turn up the most in accompany with hyperopia and astigmatism, with hyperopia returing to astigmatism around 6 years old.
